Bio
From an early age growing up in the suburbs of Cincinnati, Bill developed an admiration for animals and the outdoors. He purchased his first 35mm camera in the late 1970's and hasn't been without a camera ever since. In 2002 Bill switched entirely from film to
digital.
Bill’s passion expanded to underwater photography in the late 1980's when
he began scuba diving. He spent the next decade exploring and capturing the beauty of various underwater wonders, including the
cenotes (caves) in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.
Around 2000, Bill began to look for more land-based wildlife
to photograph. As a resident of Florida, Bill quickly found birds to be a perfect
match. Since then he has spent countless hours in the field studying and photographing
various species of birds. He also travels to many other locations photographing
birds native to other particular areas.
In addition to photography, Bill is still an active scuba
diver and is an instructor for the sport. He is an avid woodworker and, he
devotes many hours every year to helping injured wildlife and promoting their
conservation.
Through the years, Bill’s images have won numerous awards,
been used in various publications, and have been sold as fine art prints.
