Williams Park

City: Tampa

GPS: N27 51.630 W82 23.067

Williams Park is a Hillsboro County park along the Alafia River. This park mostly serves as a boat ramp for Tampa Bay. There is a fishing pier also and a number of Herons, Egrets, and Pelicans will hang out here looking for a hand out. At low tide some small oyster bars are exposed along the shore on the right side of the boat docks. It is very common to have Oystercatchers and other shorebirds come in to feed here. This is a morning location. If coming for the Oystercatchers it is best to get there early, and sit on the bank and wait for them to arrive as some are a bit skittish as kids and dogs will run around this part of the park later in the day.

Directions: From I-75 exit on Gibsonton Road and head east to US 41 (Tamiami Trail) and turn right, north, once going over the river make a left (almost a U) into the road that leads down to William Park. The park is located back on the river by the bridge you just drove over.
